Commentary | "A. Phimister Proctor was elected a Life Artist Member of the National Arts Club in 1921. The Buckaroo was given by Proctor to The National Arts Club in 1922 as his Diploma Presentation. In 1965 the work was sold by the club to Parke Bernet Galleries." (Registrar for Collections, The National Arts Club). There is a buffalo skull in base of sculpture by horse's left front foot. |
